- Perform preventative maintenance to meet required regulations and scheduling
- Learn and perform maintenance skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting on production and building equipment
- Paint, remodel, refurbish areas as needed
- Maintain interior and exterior of property
- Keep areas clean and organized, including cleaning dock levelers, dock bays, pressure washing building surfaces, cleaning HVAC systems (interior and exterior) maintaining a clean maintenance department
- Monitor and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and parts inventory
- Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests as assigned
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks
- Operate a forklift to assist in heavy lifting maintenance procedures and repairs
- Any other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- You must be at least 18 years old
- Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement)
- Valid Driver’s License to operate applicable company vehicles
- Acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations
- Ability to work any schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to be able to converse with the public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official questions, and be able to make legible entries on reports and records
- Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds
- Some travel may be require
- Experience in material handling equipment (MHE), building maintenance or other related field
- Must be able to work indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions, temperature conditions and varying heights safely
- Ability to utilize an onboard computer and desktop computer (PC, Windows, Microsoft Programs, etc)
- This position must pass post-offer background and drug test
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Trade school diploma or certification
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Ability to read building schematics and blueprints
- Recent training and working knowledge in multiple areas of building maintenance including storage systems (racking), electrical, plumbing, welding, hydraulics, ammonia refrigeration systems, generators, and fire suppression systems.
- General facilities technical certifications and/or verified training is desirable
