Position Summary:
Responsible for the safe operation of company equipment and timely, courteous delivery of product to our customers.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Safely and professionally operate a commercial motor vehicle
- Use Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and/or Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as an electric pallet jack and/or hand truck
- Maneuver vehicle and equipment in congested areas with limited space and potential obstacles
- Unload and deliver products to our customer utilizing various methodologies that may include manual conveyors, carts, or pallets in multi-temperature environments
- Provide exceptional customer service to consumers and store personnel
- Complete delivery and pick up paperwork
- Pick up returned product as required
- Collect company assets to include payments, carts, pallets, etc.
- Complete pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of equipment and vehicle
- Complete company training and certifications as required
- Effectively communicate and maintain contact with shift supervisor, dispatch, and/or co-workers
- Other projects or duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Must have at least 1 year Class A commercial driving experience or equivalent driving experience in the military
- Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record in compliance with DOT requirements
- Must be able to lift products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Must be able to pass a post-offer background, DOT Physical and drug test
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Customer service experience
- Experience with a handheld ordering device and working in a multi-temperature environment
- Stocking, product handling, local delivery, or unloading experience
- Foodservice distribution, grocery store, or beverage delivery experience
